Bio
Denny Young makes a living out of multi-tasking. He loves being busy. Right now, he's working for the Toronto Symphony Orchestra as Senior Director of Development, teaching nonprofit marketing at Ryerson University and
also teaching office management at Humber College's Fundraising and Volunteer Management program. Denny loves what he does and thinks it's a privilege to work with nonprofit organizations and leaders that are
determined to make the world a better place.
Dedicated to life-long learning, Denny regularly experiences education from the student's perspective. As part of his Masters degree in Philanthropy and Development at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota, he conducted international research into best practices for Board recruitment and training. What he learned during that process helps inform his approach to the management of volunteer and staff groups and he is often called upon to assist in the development and coaching of high-impact teams.
To better understand business practices - with a goal of improving the collaborative opportunities between the for-profit and nonprofit sectors - Denny completed the Ivey School of Business Executive Program in 2008.
